Challenge
A leading provider of quality consumables, distributing a range of quality food brands is faced with the challenge of being unable to monitor their cold storage systems in real-time. This was due to the location’s restricted access to mobile networks, which most data loggers require to function properly.
Approach
To overcome this challenge, the client implemented the Gricd LoRa products, which transmits data through radio waves. This technology enables long-range communication with low power consumption. The radio waves are transmitted through the air and received by a gateway connected to a network server located outside the cold rooms. The received data is then processed by the network server and sent to the appropriate application server to access the data and receive excursion alerts. These alerts help the client take proactive actions to prevent losses.
Achieved Result
With our temperature monitoring sensors, the client has successfully monitored their items to stay within the required thresholds, thereby preventing asset loss in their cold rooms across Nigeria.
